Note: I am no longer supporting the rebuilding parts for the 3110 & 3115 Ford starter motors...The items listed below are in stock and will be removed from the list when exhausted.

Field coil set for 3115 motor 23.00

New Injoy Series Motors

These motors can now be used on the current WN2 Tim McCann winch kit and the former WN1 model winch kit using his new optional adapter kit.  Check with Tim for details.

TB1225 Model Motor

This 12 volt motor produces 2.5 HP (approx. the same as the Ford starter motor) and is being manufactured to Injoy specifications.  It is designed to provide a more reliable and durable choice when compared with the Ford starter motor. The motor has a four hole mounting plate with a six and a quarter inch long, 5/8 inch diameter shaft, measured from the mounting surface.   You might be interested to know that the shaft length for the Ford starter motor, when measured from the mounting surface of the face plate, is 6-1/4," not the 5-3/4" which is the shaft length that is usually used to describe the motor.  The 5-3/4" shaft length is measured from the front of the bearing housing on the face plate...makes a big difference.

To provide more torque, it has four field coils (the Ford Starter has two) and the shaft turns on two ball bearings.  This is a high quality motor manufactured with sailplane winch requirements and performance in mind.  (wt. 22 lbs.).........................$290.00

TB1248 Model Motor

From the outside, this 12 volt motor looks like the TB1225, but on the inside, the components produce 4.8 HP.  The motor has the same four hole mounting plate, 6-1/4" long shaft and ball bearings as the TB1225.  This motor has almost twice the HP of the Ford starter motor and should be used with caution when launching fragile and built up planes.   (wt. 23 lbs.).........................$350.00

Note:  I cannot advise you as to which motor you should use in your winch.  I would refer you to a recent RCGroup thread  Winch Launching Issues - RC Groups which discussed at length the information that you probably need to make a decision.

Tom's Instructions For Installing Wiring Package

A completed winch using the above Injoy "Wiring Package."  I have also added a voltmeter which instantly gives you the condition of your battery at a glance.  If you hard launch with less than 11 volts, it is much more likely that you will experience a solenoid lock up.

Linemaster Clipper Foot Switch

This is a rugged foot switch made of powder coated cast iron.  It has a large footprint and can be easily mounted to a board if desired. Switch only (wt. 2 lbs.)..............$33.00  Sale $24.00

200 Amp Solenoid for Winches    NEW

This is a heavy duty solenoid with silver plated contacts which is rated continuous duty.  This solenoid is recommended for use with the new Injoy TB series motors.  This is  not an automotive type solenoid and is used in various commercial and industrial applications.   Because of this, the base of the unit does not act as the ground.  There are two small posts on the front of the solenoid and one (it does not matter which) needs to be connected to a ground and the other post is connected to the switch.  For more info please read............................$27.00
